Simple Ways for Losing Weight

  • May 13, 2011 2:33 AM

Throughout the years, many people have tried and tried and tried to lose some weight, either because they want to look better, or because they want to live a healthier life, or both.

During this time, many people have surrendered their hope of trimming substantial pounds, mainly because of the sacrifices demanded by various weight loss plans.

I’ll tell you why a lot of people view the prospect of losing some weight as hopeless.  It’s because many myths – false ones at that – have been attached to the idea of achieving and maintaining a lean and fit body.

Eat a lot less, gain less weight.

Work up some sweat, lose an equivalent amount of fats.

Depriving yourself of many foods you enjoy is the only way to lose weight.

These are but some of the things that countless people believe as true when it comes to the idea of losing weight.  Indeed, they are quite intimidating.  Eat less?  How less?  Do extraneous activities?  How extraneous?  Deprive yourself of foods?

But here’s the real truth: there are simpler ways to lose weight.

In this article, we will discuss the 3 essential components of this simple-to-follow and simple-to-execute course of action that will demand fewer sacrifices from you.

No. 1:  Adhere To A More Active Lifestyle

A friend of mine used to work as a telecommuter.  She managed her client’s needs from the comforts of her own home.  She stayed at home most of the day, sitting in front of the PC with the phone by her side.  In a year’s time, she ballooned to 155 pounds, an increase of 37 lbs. from her previous average weight of 118 lbs., and 45 lbs. above her ideal height-to-body mass weight of 110 lbs.

The following year, she received an offer for a 9-to-5 job as a secretary for one of the leading law firms in L.A.  This meant an hour and a half commuting time to and from the place of work.  She accepted the job because of the irresistible pay.

Guess what?

In 7 months, she lost 25 lbs.

Sometimes, we live a lifestyle that only allows a minimal number of physical activities.  This can be disastrous for our weight, and as such can slow down our metabolism, allowing a more rapid pace for fat buildup.

Physical exertion burns fats.  Hence, if you want to lose weight, you should be engaged in a more active lifestyle.

A “more active lifestyle” doesn’t necessarily mean the life of a gym rat (though if you can afford that much time to exercise in the gym, all will be good).  It simply means ensuring that our body accomplishes enough physical activities to maintain a healthy rate of metabolism.

Now, physical activities don’t have to involve pumping iron or enrolling in marathon aerobic classes.  You don’t have to train in 10 sports and practice to be a top athlete.

A set of stomach crunches upon waking up will burn some calories, for example.  Performing a dozen mini-squats during office hours, will burn some more calories. Taking a walk in the park with friends perhaps during your lunch break or instead of catching up for a chat over coffee. These all help you to be more active.

Small, time-efficient exercises spread throughout the day will allow your body to burn enough calories so that they don’t transform into unwanted fats.  More importantly, such exercises will also train your metabolism to maintain a healthy pace.

No. 2:  Make Healthier Choices Each Time You Eat

“Do I have to go through the day with an empty tummy?”

This is the most common question asked by people who are trying – or are planning to try – to lose some weight.

The answer: no, you don’t have to sacrifice eating just to lose weight.

You need to eat a reasonable amount of food each day to keep your body functioning at its best.  However, you should divide your food into several small meals to be taken throughout the day.  This way, your body will be trained to digest small chunks of food at a time, which is more effective in controlling fat buildup.

You need to also avoid taking heavy meals in the evening because once you go to bed with undigested food, your body will slow down in metabolizing your intakes.

Yes, you don’t have to sacrifice eating, per se.

But, you will have to reduce some of the food you have grown to love.  Calorie-rich meals can be saved for special occasions.  Cholesterol-rich foods should be avoided as much as possible, because they tend to make you fatter and pose health hazards, especially for people who are overweight.  For the same reason, sodium-rich snacks should likewise be avoided for the problems they can cause.

3:  Burning Fats By Eating Well

When it comes to losing weight, the magic word is “metabolism.”  The rule is simple.  Slow metabolism = more weight gain, fast metabolism = more weight loss.  Metabolism refers to your body system’s ability to burn fats.

Hence, the secret to weight loss becomes apparent. That is, establish a faster rate of metabolism in your body.

Now, here’s a piece of good news: faster metabolism doesn’t have to involve less food intake.

On the contrary, it’s possible to say that “the more you eat, the more fats you can burn.”

This can be accomplished through healthy eating of foods such as lean protein, wholegrains, fruit and vegetables.  These choices, in general, also consist of food that are harder to digest, and because the body will exert more effort in digesting them, more calories will be burned in the process.

Can You Really Make Money Doing Data Entry at Home

  • May 12, 2011 2:30 AM

There are many different ways to make money working at home and one of those is to do data entry. You’ve probably seen various ads and websites on the Internet talking about how to do that. In this article we are going to take a closer look and answer the question, can you really work at home and make money doing data entry!

The bad thing about most websites is all they’re doing is selling information of companies that are looking to hire. You must be careful when you buy a list like this because many times they are not accurate and are out of date.

What happens is you begin to work the list and not see anybody contacting you back. You eventually give up in frustration because you realize that you’ve been taken advantage of when you bought the list initially.

A better approach is to market yourself and your skills directly. There is no doubt that more and more companies are hiring people to work out of their homes as opposed to requiring them to drive into an office and do it.

Telecommuting is more popular than ever and will continue to do so as the price of gas continues to rise. The key is to figure out how to market yourself for a data entry position on the Internet.

TJobs is an example of a work-at-home website of which there are many on the Internet.com that offer work at home jobs in various categories. You can check it out and see if they have any links for data entry or other categories that you might qualify for.

The other thing is to get a map and determine how many businesses are within a few miles of your front door. These might be candidates for you to do various things for including data entry.

The only thing you can do is contact them via phone, mail your resume or by e-mailing them to see if they would have an interest. To do that you need to set up an online profile that describes your abilities and what you are looking for in a work at home job.

There are many different ways data entry work can be done and some of those include medical transcription. If you’re willing to work at it you can develop your own home business doing this.

A person who does data entry, is someone who will create lists of information such as names and numbers and addresses and other contact information. You need to be detail oriented.

You can also do word processing for companies including writing letters, preparing reports and so on. You could even answer the phone and in essence start your own virtual assistant business.

These are a few ideas that can help answer the question can you really work at home doing data entry. Yes you can, but you’re going to have to become active in looking for companies that would hire you.

Great Work for Stay at Home Moms

  • May 9, 2011 3:20 PM

The Internet is full of home business opportunities for women. Type in work for stay at home moms in the Google search box and you will be presented with a long list of possibilities. Once upon a time most work from home ventures had a stigma and bad reputation attached to them. Thankfully, this is not the case anymore; many women are now able to stay at home caring for their families while making full time incomes.

More and more companies are seeing the value in allowing workers to telecommute. There is no shortage for the need of good articles online, so you can write articles if this is something you enjoy doing. You submit your article and if it’s accepted, you get paid for it. That is as easy as it gets, really.

Sales are another home based business that is suitable for women. If you are an extrovert by nature, you may want to consider organizing home parties; opportunities exist for almost anything. Avon and Mary Kay are examples of these kinds of ventures but a whole range of others are available to choose from. The party plan involves keeping appointments with people who in turn invite their friends, you get to showcase your samples and talk about your products which in some cases lead to sales. You also invite the invitees to host their own parties thereby placing their unique friends at your disposal. This type of business can be great fun for the person who has a knack of working well with people and is organized. Some women have made a couple of hundred dollars in just a few hours doing these parties.

You can start a business selling your own created products if you have an artistic streak in you. Making baby items by knitting or crocheting is another potentially profitable venture to explore. Other items to consider making include cards, jewellery, candles or anything else you are good at. Then place your items online to sell or in consignment shops. To set your prices, figure your cost of materials and how long it takes you to complete the item. Also to guide you, it may be worth checking how much similar items are sold for online. You don’t want to undersell your work and you also don’t want to price it so high that the average person would bypass it either.

Items such as jewellery can be obtained at discount prices from sites on the internet and resold at a profit. Whatever you eventually choose as a business it is important to carry out your research thoroughly as this is the foundation upon which your success will be built. Read as widely as you can about your desired business. In doing your due diligence, consider going to forums relating to your business to see what others are saying about it. There is a lot of valuable information on business opportunities and how to get started in them all over the web but you have to be careful to avoid the scams. Visiting forums and getting involved is a great way to network with like minded people like you. Other stay at home moms can help you with advice through the difficulties you may encounter – like having someone to hold your hand.

Many more businesses exist out there that are suitable for the stay at home mom; these ideas are by no means exhaustive. If you can think it up, you can probably find a way to make a career out of it. Getting started may feel overwhelming, but jump in, once you find your first paying job, you will see how rewarding it can be to have your own home based business.

  • May 9, 2011 2:29 AM

Staying at home and working is a dream that is shared by many people who have made it a reality. Here are some easy tips to help you excel with MLM opportunities.

MLM business opportunities are completely different than working for a telecommute position. There are no annual salary guarantees or hourly rate minimum for work completed. Moving the business into profit mode will take an investment of money and time. New small businesses that are short on money may have to spend more time marketing.

There is an entry fee associated with buying a MLM business. It is easy to gain the working capital for this purchase by having a yard sale, doing freelance work, or picking up a side job. There are hundreds of good companies to work with. Take time before signing up to fully understand the business model of the selected company. For example, a business may retail nutritional supplements. The income may be earned from both retailing products and from gaining new sign ups into the company.

Some experienced MLM business owners are very good at recruiting new people. Spending money on professional sales training is important. The information learned can save years of frustration. Scripts are a great tool to sound confident on the telephone or when talking to people in person. It is easy to assure new recruits when they can do this work, when they realize that the prior conversations were guided by scripts. Kindly direct new recruits to the appropriate sales training information instead of making calls or doing small tasks for them.

Marketing plans helps prevent chasing people or being fearful of saying the wrong thing. Online marketing can be done started inexpensively online. It only takes about an hour a day to update a MySpace Page, You Tube, and Twitter page. Consistently doing these actions each week or once a day will draw qualified leads in for free. Submitting articles to directories with a link to a lead capture page is another way to capture interested leads.

Paying for leads is not inexpensive. It is a way to invest in the business to find people that have expressed a desire to work from home. Taking consistent actions will bring in good results. It is common for it to take a few months or many years to develop a large income from MLM.

Read thoroughly to ensure that all aspects of the opportunity are understood prior to signing up. Ignore the feeling to ask family and friends to join. Complete smart inexpensive marketing techniques each day and bring interested people to pages that talk about the opportunity. Spend some money each month on professional training. Use these tips to find success with MLM opportunities.

Would-be moms should check on their diets and avoid fatty and spicy foods. It becomes difficult to digest as the progesterone hormone working at this time slows the digestive process and the emptying of the stomach does not happen too much. The acidic contents move up to the region of esophagus. This results in reflux which can also be called as heartburn. There is also the pressure of the expanding uterus which causes a pressure on the stomach. You have to eat smaller meals, more frequently.

How to Use the Internet to Work From Home

  • May 8, 2011 2:12 AM

Time. What would you do with one extra hour a day? Two? Three? How about a whole day? What if you never had to go to the office again, but could more efficiently work from the comfort of home. This isn’t just a daydream. It is an achievable goal in today’s Internet-based economy. All you need is a plan, and the will to follow it.

Never in modern history have there been more opportunities to work from home. But are you taking advantage of them? You could be doing any number of things to increase the amount of free time and disposable income you have. It may be as simple as asking your boss if you can work from home on Wednesdays, or you may want to create a business plan for an Internet venture. The important thing is to look at the Internet as more than just email and instant weather reports- the Internet can give you that most important of life’s commodities: Time.

While not all of us can consider telecommuting as a viable option, many can cut down on how often they need to physically be at work. Take teachers as one example. With the use of on-line lesson plan sites such as Web English Teacher you can do almost all of your planning from the comfort of your own living room. Need to get grading done? A variety of on-line grading tools are available which allow you to grade right from your own living room. Some sites, like Blackboard.com, even give you the ability to interact with students as they are doing their homework with instant chat and help files. If you think creatively, you’ll find many ways to work productively from home, effectively giving you more time.

However, the Internet revolution can give you much more than just a few more hours at home. It can provide you with substantial supplemental income and even the possibility of not needing to go to that 9-5 job ever again. The trick is finding something you are good at and developing it into a revenue stream. One of the most popular on-line businesses is the eBay store. Here you can create your own virtual retail operation. Or maybe you want to provide a service instead of selling. Are you a decent writer? People will pay up to $100.00 for a well-written resume. I speak from experience, as I have been doing this for over 7 years, and it has allowed my wife the opportunity to stay home with our young children. Here are just a few of the literally hundreds of potential revenue builders you could create:
Bookkeeping
Business support
Consulting
Desktop publishing
Medical claims
Security specialist
Seminar production
Transcription service
Virtual assistant business

So, what do you need to get started? A computer with Internet access and some basic skills; nothing more complicated than what you could find in one of those ever popular Dummies, or Idiot’s Guide books. Then just decide what you would like to do. Take a look on-line at sites such as homebusinessmag.com, hbwm.com and home-based-business-world.com or any number of other quality sites to get ideas and start making plans for your own financially secure future.

It is as easy as that. Start small. As with any business venture you need to give it time to grow. Don’t quit that day job, yet. But remember, never before has there been such opportunity in the marketplace. Don’t let it pass you by. You have more than just financial security to gain; you can also have more time.
