Finding the Right Work at Home Job

  • May 13, 2011 4:40 AM

Having a job that allows people to work from home, as long as it is a lucrative one, can mean saying goodbye to all of the things that that make the daily grind such a headache in the first place.
Work at home positions vary depending on what industry they are in. If you take a look online, you can most certainly find these types of positions in many different fields.

Employers are seeing the need for hiring individuals that can work at home, rather than fill a seat in their office buildings. The expense for hiring and employing an in-house individual is always more expensive. Hiring individuals that can work from the comfort of their own homes can even mean that they can hire more individuals than would fit into their office space and conduct even more business than they usually could.

Many individuals in the writing and photography fields choose to work out of their own homes and simply sell themselves as contract laborers. For the individual, this can mean choosing whom they want to work for and whom they do not. It also means that they can decide on exactly what their services should be worth rather than taking a wage that is offered to them by an employer. These freelance individuals can either complete the work they are looking to sell before hand and then find an interested buyer or they may contract with someone to do a particular job and then complete the job at hand. Either way, they are still running their own work at home business and can do so according to their own rules.
Work at home jobs, such as medical transcription, are gaining huge popularity as of late. The medical field is always in need of competent individuals to transcribe medical histories and reports. For the person with the knowledge of medical terminology and facts, this can be the perfect work at home position. Just as in the medical profession, there is also a need for legal transcriptionists to transcribe legal information for many attorneys.

Work at home jobs can also come from ideas that an individual may have themselves. If they have a certain expertise, then it can be possible to turn it into a business. Many individuals have started their own home business by simply taking an activity or hobby that they love and finding a way to market it. This is truly what having a work at home business is about; finding what type of job is the best fit and then finding a way to make it work.

Free Home Business Work From Home MLM Business Opportunity: are Free MLM Businesses Legit?

  • May 12, 2011 4:35 PM

Are free home business work from home MLM business opportunities legitimate?  The simple answer is: yes and no.  The MLM and network marketing industry has gotten a lot of bad rap over the years.  This is because anybody can start a network marketing business; they do not need any special skills or special degrees.  This often leads to people starting businesses without any business skills (which means ultimate failure of the business) or businesses that do not follow the laws and are eventually shut down for being illegal.

This is also the case with free home business work from home MLM business opportunity.  Some are poorly run, some are illegal, and some are legal.  So, the question becomes can you make money in a free home business work from home MLM business opportunity?  Again, this is going to depend on the company.  However, in my experience “free home business work from home MLM business opportunities” aren’t really free.  There might not be a fee to join the company, but there will most likely be something that you have to purchase in order to get paid (this is why it’s important to join a network marketing business that sells a product that you can use).  It is just not possible for a company to pay you if they are not being paid somehow.

Do not look for the cheapest home business work from home MLM business opportunity.  Look for a business that you can get passionate about.  I have never come across a network marketing business.  That was “expensive” to start.  If you compare the startup capital and overhead costs of a network marketing business to any other business, they are miniscule.

3 Ideas for Starting a Work at Home Business

  • May 12, 2011 4:27 AM

Are you tired of doing the “commute thing” and are you longing to find a way to work at home? Have you given it a lot of thought but just don’t know what to do or where to start? Let me tell you about three work at home businesses that are viable in today’s market and easy to start up.

1. Virtual Assistant: This is a great option if you are just starting a work at home business. It’s simple and requires some basic organizational skills. Many who work at home do not have time to run their business and answer the phone and emails. Others with “real jobs” many times are in need of some help with such things. A virtual assistant can be a life saver.

The duties of a virtual assistant are much the same as a “real job” assistant. The big difference is that the virtual assistant just walks down the hall in his/her house shoes and can work at home in their “jammies”. This is a great business that fills a great need and should definitely be considered as one of your top choices if you enjoy being home and helping others keep their lives in order.

2. eBay Shop: This is a business that is on the rise due to the popularity of “recycling stuff”. If you’ve ever used eBay to sell anything you know that money can be made working at home using eBay.

For some people, eBay is a simple website to use but for others who either don’t have the time, knowledge or inclination, selling something that way is too much trouble. They are missing out on making money. This is good for you if you learn to understand and use eBay and create a shop to sell other people’s items. When you work at home this way you can make a lot of money.

You may be wondering what to charge people to sell their “stuff”. A charge of about 10% of the selling price of the item would reward you for your efforts. The customers you will deal with are usually going to be busy adults with no time to sell items on eBay or older adults who just do not understand technology.

If the idea of dealing with customers leaves you cold, you could open a specialty store and work at home. If you are a computer person and like technology, you could specialize in that type of item, laptops for instance. You would go to stores or people and buy their laptops and then resell them on eBay, usually making a big profit.

3. Online Writer: There are not many people doing online writing so there is not a lot of competition. With this at home business, you would write articles or other written material for others, This might be copy for a website that would help to optimize the traffic to that site which would make the site owner money. You would be given a topic and would write the article. You can get paid good money to do that as you work from home.

This is easier said than done. It takes developing your writing skill and creativity. It is the hardest of the three businesses we’ve discussed. Once you’ve gotten good at your craft and have developed a large list of clients you could make $15 or more per article. As you develop your speed, you could make $30 an hour or more! It’s a lot of work but well worth it if you are a writer at heart.

We’ve talked about virtual assistant, eBay shop and online writer. These at work at home business bring you extra money, enough to make ends meet and maybe even much more than that. They are easy to get started and don’t cost much.

Why are Work at Home Jobs so Hard to Find?

  • May 11, 2011 4:23 PM

Many people want to make money at home and they want to find a work at home job to do it with. Ultimately what happens is they become frustrated as they search from website to website looking for the right job. This brings up the question, why are work at home jobs so hard to find? In this article we will take an honest look at this problem.

1. First of all you should know that most of the opportunities to work at home are not actually paid jobs. This is true because most employers do not know you and have no control over the work environment when you do it from the comfort of your own home.

If you realistically think about this, why would someone pay you an hourly rate when they do not know if you are really working or not? Therefore many of the opportunities to work at home are actually in the form of business opportunities where you work for yourself.

2. There really are some companies looking for people to work from home. This phenomenon is known as telecommuting and does provide an opportunity for people with legitimate skills to get paid working from home.

This benefits both the company and the worker because the business does not need to provide a space for you to work from, and as an employee you do not have to get up and drive to work every day.

Many companies now will offer work at home jobs that include an hourly rate and benefits. These benefits can include paid vacation, retirement plan, and health insurance.

One such website or you can visit is Tjobs.com. They match employers looking for workers with employees who are looking for opportunities to telecommute. This works out very well for people who have skills such as sales, customer service, website design, and other categories.

3. Another thing I want to talk about is websites that present themselves as work at home jobs doing data entry, taking paid surveys, and typing at home. Generally these websites are trying to sell you information on how to get involved in this type of work.

There are companies who will pay you for your opinion, or to do data entry and typing. The websites that are selling you the information deserve to be paid because they have taken the time to develop a list of companies for you to contact.

In the future work at home jobs will become more readily available. Until that point you need to be conscious and only deal with reputable companies before spending any of your hard earned money.

When not to Work From Home

  • May 11, 2011 4:10 AM

Although working from home for yourself can be extremely exciting, it is not for everyone. The problem is not everyone can identify when is the right time to quit their job or stay at home and work. In this article we will talk about when not to work from home because the situation or the timing may not be right.

1. The first thing you must take into consideration is the financial aspect of working from home. If you currently have a job that is paying you on a regular basis you have to ask yourself whether you can afford to quit that job or not.

Another thing to consider is what your financial well being is. For example are you loaded with credit card debt that makes it difficult for you to function financially on a daily basis?

2. Secondly consider how would you make money working from home? When you have a job you are trading hours for dollars. Many times this is difficult to take home and duplicate.

Finding employers who are willing to pay you an hourly rate to work from home for them is not as easy as it sounds. Oftentimes the way to make money working from home is to provide a product or service and sell it.

3. However a downside to this is you may not be able to create an income stream immediately. This means you need to have some sort of a savings account or growth reserve account in place to carry you through the ups and downs of creating a solid income stream. Many people cannot afford to do this and ultimately add to their existing debt.

4. Do you have the skills that it takes to work from home? For example if you want to start an Internet business, and make money online, do you know how to do Internet marketing? This does not have to stop you from getting started, however it may affect whether you do it full time right away or not.

5. Is your home set up so you can go to work and avoid distractions? This is a major problem for people who have kids or friends who are constantly dropping by. To be successful, and work from home, you must be able to walk into an area that is considered your work environment and get busy working.

In summary this is a few things to consider they may affect whether you want to work from home or not. Ultimately this is a personal choice and you will have to weigh the pros and cons of.

Working From Home- a Guide for Beginners, Retirees and Moms

  • May 10, 2011 3:57 PM

If you look no matter where you go money just does not stretch as far as it used to. What provided a comfortable retirement income to allow for a 20 year retirement period now lasts less than ten. This means even after you have spent your life working and saving you may not have enough to spend your golden years relaxing and enjoying the fruits of your labors. The same goes for the working class. The cost of childcare is on the rise and spaces are often limited, schedules to get children to daycare and pick them up can make working a difficult proposition.  In some cases, one whole income of a two-income household could be spent in just childcare expenses leaving many moms looking for ways to become work from home moms to lower costs.

The difficulty rises in finding work from home opportunities that have a training program for beginners, and designed to appeal to retired work from home seekers or work from home moms. This means that they need to be programs that are easy to work, do not require an excessive amount of time to watch over. This means it should be a program that allows you to do a small amount of work or blocks of work at a time and leave it but earn revenue whether you are there or not. It needs to be simple and easy to start up and not require a huge investment.

Finding a program like this can be difficult. There are thousands of works from home programs that offer a training program for beginners but only a few of them actually provide you with real and valuable information. You could spend months going through all the opportunities to find the one that is right for you. There are a few ways that you can speed the process up and get started that much faster with a better chance of success.

•  Look for work from home opportunities that cater to work from home moms.  If you are retired, look for opportunities that are going to appeal to you.
•   Make sure to thoroughly exam the products, the services offered by the parent company and the opportunity in general.
•  Look for reviews from people who have tried the program. It is important to find a good source of information. There are a number of sites and programs that do part of the research for you and organize the opportunities or help to eliminate scams and make sure to check to make sure the business is legitimate.
•  Many complaints can be found at the better business bureau so it is a good idea when looking for opportunities to check any that look good with the BBB to see if there have been any reported problems.
•  If the opportunity sells a perishable or usable product such as vitamins or health aids, consider trying the products or asking for samples.

There are plenty of opportunities available for individuals who are looking to be work at home moms or individuals who are retired work from home seekers. Even beginners can find programs that can fit into already established work schedules or into any skill level but it takes a willingness to research and review the opportunities presented to find the one that works best for you.
